Springfield’s 2013-2016 Magnet Grant Schools

n 2013 the US Department of Education once again awarded Springfield a Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grant that has provided over $11.5 million over the 3 year grant funding cycle to support expanded work in  3 current Springfield public schools (Central, Duggan and Renaissance) and 1 new school, the Springfield Conservatory of the Arts.  Through this current round of funding, Central and Renaissance added a STEM focus to their teaching and learning, Duggan is focusing on Social Justice within their Expeditionary Learning work while expanding from a middle to a 6 to 12 school and the school district established the Springfield Conservatory of the Arts, a new 6-12 school.  We are excited about these  programs and grateful that the federal government has once again supported our work to bring advanced learning opportunities and real choice to our Springfield students and families.
